FROM DUSK TILL DAWN
OUR STORY.
SIXTEEN YEARS OF OHM
OHM Charity Fashion Show is an annual performing arts show in support of the Canadian Cancer Society, produced and executed by Western University students. While no word in the English language directly translates to the term, ‘OHM,’ it’s the name of a symbol meaning ‘eternal.’ Dedicated to broadening the Western and London community’s social experience, OHM is a unique, high-energy event, featuring some of the most spectacular clothing, highly-skilled choreographed dance sequences, and outstanding student artwork. Every year, OHM welcomes a new theme to form the grounds that encompass the ideas of the show as a whole.
THE CHARITY.
THE CANADIAN CANCER SOCIETY
OHM continues to proudly support the Canadian Cancer Society, through donating our net proceeds each year. We have raised over $130,000 for the Society since our inception. Sanctioned in 1938, the Canadian Cancer Society is a private non-profit organization, whose purpose is to enrich the lives of those living with cancer, as well as to hopefully eliminate cancer.
The Canadian Cancer Society puts their donations toward funding research on all types of cancer. The research they carry out helps provide significant information on how cancer develops, how to best treat it, how to prevent it, and how to improve the quality of life for those living with cancer. The impact of their research on Canadian citizens is astounding; with an investment of $44 million in 2015 alone, the Canadian Cancer Society continues to make ground-breaking medical discoveries in cancer research.
